Just outside of the tiny little medieval village of Offida in Marche, Southern Italy, lies an eqaually tiny vineyard calld Ciù Ciù. The winery was established in 1970 by husband and wife Natalino and Anna Bartolomei – their vineyards sit on sunny hills, cooled by seabreezes coming from the East. Their wine making philosophy is steeped in tradition: they grow only local varieties, their vines are tended to organically, and in the winery they use indigenous yeasts and avoid fining and filtration.
It’s a soft and juicy red, with notes of cherries, strawberries, raspberries and a touch of sweet spice
