Sourced from longest-standing loyal Peter Lehmann growers, Peter Scholz (Willows Vineyard and Light Pass), Mike McCarthy (Bethany), Simon Hahn (Nuriootpa), Mark Mader (Light Pass), Ralph Schrapel, (Ebenezer). The grapes are harvested in the morning, then fermented on skins for up to two weeks. Individual components were pressed and transferred to barrel for malolactic fermentation. Then the wine batches for 8 Songs were selected at their annual classification tasting, then blended and matured for a further 18 months in 40% new French oak hogsheads (60% older).
A rich and fragrant nose with abundant dark fruit, plum, blueberry, allspice and dusty cedar notes. The palate is all about texture and mouthfeel, with rich ripe plums, dark red fruits, creamy chocolate, silky tannins and a pure fruited long savoury finish.
